It contains 176 lined pages printed on smooth 100gsm FSC-certified, acid-free text paper. Designed with practicality in mind, the interior features 25 lines per page and an 8.11mm line spacing that offers a comfortable and refined writing experience for journaling, creative work or daily reflections.

Its flexible softcover includes decorative printed cover paper, cloth headbands and threaded stitching for added durability. The Smyth sewn binding allows the notebook to open flat, while the back cover pouch is perfect for holding notes, receipts or small keepsakes. A ribbon marker and distinctive edge printing complete the premium feel of this beautifully crafted journal.

The design for this edition is inspired by the back cover of the Lindau Gospels, an illuminated manuscript created between 750 and 800 AD in a workshop near Salzburg, Austria. The original binding, now housed in the Morgan Library in New York, is an extraordinary example of early medieval artistry. Crafted in gilt, silver and enamel and richly adorned with jewels, it was intended to evoke awe when carried in religious processions or displayed on altars.

During the early medieval period, elaborate book covers served as powerful visual symbols, especially in times when most people could not read. The splendour of bindings such as the Lindau Gospels encouraged reverence and helped convey the significance of the sacred stories contained within.

Today, this binding remains one of the most admired examples of early European bookmaking. By reproducing its ornate back cover, Paperblanks pays tribute to the craftsmanship and spiritual expression of the era, transforming a historical masterpiece into an inspiring journal for modern writers.
